Cardigans in Cashmere

The cardigan is the layer in between. It catches a cool morning and is off again by evening — something neither a sweater nor a coat can do. Worn open over a blouse or a shirt it reads as easy; closed, it reads as a fine sweater.

Crewneck or V-neck

The crewneck closes quietly and works as a mid-layer under a blazer or a trench coat without adding bulk. The V-neck shows what lies underneath — urban over a white crewneck tee, polished over a blouse, a little bolder on bare skin.

How to spot a good cardigan

By its edges. Narrow ribbed cuffs and hem hold their shape; mother-of-pearl buttons lie flat and keep the placket from pulling out of line. Our cashmere styles are worked in a fine 12-gauge knit — light enough that the shoulder stays flat under a jacket.

Fit and care

The cashmere styles are cut relaxed; for a closer fit, take one size down. The argyle cardigan in merino-cashmere is the opposite — it runs large, so if you usually wear a 38, take a 36 here. Wash cold by hand or on the wool cycle at 30 °C, then dry flat and store folded, not on a hanger.
