3 facts why we love cashmere wool
These are the sweet cashmere goats that our luxurious scarves and beanies are made of. Did you know that cashmere is the fiber that is brushed or sheared from the goat's undercoat ?
Fact 1
It is the softest, warmest and most breathable natural fiber. Cashmere insulates up to 8 times more than normal wool. It keeps you cool when it's hot and warm when it's cold.
Fact 2
It isolates the goat from the harsh climates of the high plateaux of the Himalayas, China and Mongolia, so it is only brushed or shorn twice a year. Once in the spring before kidding and once in the fall before the breeding season. It is one of the rarest materials in the world, accounting for just 0.5% of global wool production
Fact 3
SAINTE MER's co-founder spent 3 months in Mongolia in her 20s. She has been working with knitwear and cashmere for the biggest names in German fashion for more than 25 years and continues to visit all factories and farms at least once a year to ensure the highest standards in production! Undoubtedly, an absolute expert when it comes to cashmere quality and production!
