Finely brushed, fluffy, cloud-soft. And knitted in intarsia: every block of color on its own yarn, the reverse as clean as the front.
True to size. Dropped shoulder, straight cut, ribbed cuffs and hem.
Marlen's note
The argyle or diamond pattern is a beautiful knit motif that never goes out of style. Sometimes it is the top trend, as it is this season; sometimes simply a handsome classic that signals traditional craft from across the room — worked beautifully on our merino-cashmere blend. If you like color and a little more daring, take the Toffee version; if you love the classic and uncomplicated, the favorite in Flannel.
The pattern is worked in intarsia — every block of color on its own yarn, with no floats on the reverse.
Plus 95% merino wool, 5% cashmere, brushed. The brushing lets the edges between the color fields fade out softly. Thanks to the dropped shoulder it sits loosely over a blouse without adding bulk.
After seventeen years in buying, this is the argyle I like wearing most myself.

Frequently asked questions
Does merino wool itch?
Merino is considerably finer than classic virgin wool and lies flatter on the skin. The brushing and the cashmere content make the surface softer still.
Why are the edges of the diamonds not razor-sharp?
Because the yarn is brushed. The raised fibers settle slightly over the color change. With unbrushed yarn the edges stand out more crisply — but the soft handle is missing.
Why 95 to 5 and not pure cashmere?
Merino holds its shape better and is more hard-wearing. The cashmere content brings the softness. For a pattern like argyle that gets worn often, that is the more durable combination.
Which size should I take?
The sweater is true to size. If you want to wear it loosely over a blouse, size up.

Frequently asked questions
Where does your cashmere come from?
From the cashmere goat, which winters on the high plateaus of Mongolia. Its undercoat is combed out by hand each spring — Grade-A, 14 to 16 microns. The origin can be traced back to the spinning mill.
Do the sizes run true?
Our fits are cut relaxed.
