The knit that has quietly been a customer favorite for a few years – and the piece that works hardest in autumn. Under the blazer, under the cardigan, under the coat with a large scarf on top: the short sleeve puts a layer of brushed warmth against the body without two sleeves stacking at the wrist.

And indoors, once the coat is off and the heating is on, it simply stays on. That is its real trick: it warms where it is cold and never adds bulk where it is warm. A long sleeve can only do one of the two. Relaxed cut, brushed, 95% merino, 5% cashmere – as soft as everything else we make.

It is cut deliberately wide, with a dropped shoulder: it reads relaxed and ends softly on the arm instead of cutting it off. The upper arms are well covered.

Material and care

95% merino wool, 5% cashmere. The yarn is brushed: the fiber ends are raised, which makes the surface softer and the handle fuller.

• Or professional dry cleaning on a gentle program

Frequently asked questions

Short sleeves in winter?
That is the point. Under a coat, blazer or cardigan there is no double sleeve, and the upper arms stay covered. Indoors it stays on when a long sleeve would already be too warm.

Which size should I take?
The piece is cut wide. In your usual size it sits the way it is meant to. For a closer fit, size down.

Does it add bulk under a blazer?
No. The fine knit is deliberately kept thin so the shoulder stays flat under a jacket.

Does merino wool itch on bare skin?
Merino is considerably finer than classic virgin wool and lies flatter on the skin. The brushing and the cashmere content make the surface softer still — this piece is made to be worn next to the skin.

Where does your cashmere come from?
From the cashmere goat, which winters on the high plateaus of Mongolia. Its undercoat is combed out by hand each spring — Grade-A, 14 to 16 microns. The origin can be traced back to the spinning mill.

Do the sizes run true?
Our fits are cut relaxed.
